Yeah. You bet. I certainly want to see teams that were ahead of the Cubs fall behind the Cubs. goes with being a Cubs fan, that weird, strange, inexplicable desire to win the division. I know it's bizarre to want to be the first place team.
once again, there can be only 1. And I REALLY don't think the Reds have the balls to be the last team standing.

Worst loss in MLB in 34 years and the worst loss in Reds history.

So you let you're "weird, strange inexplicable desire to win the division" do away with any wild card considerations?

You've made it clear that Reds suck and Dusty can't produce a winner in Cincinnati. If that's true, why wouldn't you want them to beat the Phillies, a potential Cub competitor for the wildcard if the Cubs don't win the divsion?

Quit using circular logic. The fact is the Reds suck and its starting to show

yes. yes I do.

It was a veiled reference to a seinfeld line. my point is the reds suck and your diverting attention away from that increasingly evident reality.

How is my reasoning circular?

Hoping that the teams who present the biggest obstacles for qualifying for the playoffs lose is not circular logic or reasoning.

You're right. Its not circular logic. The Reds suck. Regardless of who Cub fans should or shouldnt be rooting for.

Wasn't he the one that was caught with super balls in his bat?

You are correct sir.....from Wikipedia

Quote:
His final season was in Cincinnati in 1996. His homecoming did not go as well as he had hoped. In July of that season, Sabo shattered his bat which was filled with cork. As a result of the incident, Sabo received a seven-game suspension.Sabo maintains that he had never corked a bat in his life. He claimed that the bat in question belonged to another player (whom he would not name). He argued that his performance that season (3HR in 52 games) was hardly "an endorsement of the cork industry."

NSJ, the team that has the potential to be the biggest threat to a post season is one within the division. i think it's probably safe to say that it's not likely to see the wild card decided in the Central. Therefore, I would consider any loss within the division to be my desired outcome. Now, were the Reds 5 games below the cubs and the cubs are 1.5 games below the Phils out of a wild card and the Reds are playing the Phils, then my rooting interests have changed due to the circumstances.

Though the pitching matchup doesn't favor the Reds tonight, it would be funny if the Reds could take 2 out of 3 after losing the first game 22-1. I don't mind seeing them lose by that margin if they end up winning the series.

The Phillies were busting up in the dugout while Reds second baseman Paul Janish gave up six runs in the 8th. A second loss to the Reds would wipe those smiles off their faces.

OK Nas, it's halfway thru the season and your man Willy Tavaras is falling WAY short of your expectations.
16 stolen bases, 40 runs scored (I believe you were predicting 100). A .288 OBP and a DREADFUL .301 SLG.
Do you still think this guy is gonna save the Reds?

There is no more sophisticated means to construct an argument than the "You Suck" approach.

What is the point of arguing with you....We all get it the Reds are awesome....Dusty Baker is a genius. It's the same thing all the time. They are going to finish in 4th and 5th and you will be here posting excuses about what happened. Why dont you go to post some at CINCINSFMB or at least bring some critical thoughts to your posts concerning the Big Red Machine.

PS......Reds Suck.

He was on pace until he got a hammy injury and tried to play through it. He had something like an 8 for 95 stretch that pretty much killed his numbers. Over the past week or so he has started to pick things back up a little.
