Meant to post this earlier today when I heard a couple of these back-to-back but was out of town. While I think Bernsie can be a pretty humorous guy, I think we'd all agree it's time he develops some new stock voices. Some of his current repertoire are better than others, of course, and some are way too overused and almost PTFB inducing at this point. Off the top of my head, we already have the following:

1. The meatball fan voice: Funny the first several times I heard it, but this crutch wears thinner every time he leans on it after a bad call.

2. The old Jewish man voice: Good in very small doses, but he goes to this well far-too-often IMO.

3. The faux-stoner voice: Third-rate Jim Breuer (which is bad enough) at best. Keep it.

4. The Jerry Lewis/Professor Frink voice: Wears thin easily and best left unused except for the rare slam-dunk occasion.

5. The Woody Allen voice: I'll let him slide on this, as we all have our geeky side. Just keep it in check if at all possible.

I'm sure I'm missing several others, but these are the most egregious examples off the top of my head. The main thing point is that he's better than most of these, for instance the Dale Earnhardt/NASCAR character he retired for some reason several years back. What was that Jim Rome quote, again? Something to the effect, if I remember, of "It's time to do your job, Dan, a whole lot better!"

Hands down, my favorite Bernstein impression was his Bruce Weber. I heard him do Bill Cosby a couple of times too. Pretty funny.

Sam Rosen, it's not just the voice, but the the many scenarios that accompany the voice. It's my favorite.

The only voice I hate is when he does the stoner/dumb guy voice when its an email/text that's not in his favor, then does his "compelling/story teller" voice when reading emails in his favor. Especially when it's someone who's extra wordy like the pseudo-intellect guys. Just read it in your regular voice and let the listener decide if its a good email/text or not.

Otherwise, he's pretty good with the voices....love the old jewish guy voice...Aaron Poreda!

when i first started listening to danny b, i heard the funniest voice ever. he went on for like 20 min then started doing what i thought was an impersonation of an impersonation of len casper... i felt pretty stupid when i realized the first impersonation wasnt an impersonation. that was the first time i got the hint there might be something wrong with danny b.

Yes! That is aggravating.

I've mentioned it before, and it's probably my favorite because he rarely does it, but his Vin Scully is very funny. His Vin Scuzzy/led Zeppelin bit is one of the funniest things I've ever heard.

So meta.

I also forgot his Mayor Daley rambling press conference impression. Haven't heard it in a while, but it was priceless from what I remember.

Benny's old radio shows are often heard on "those were the days", 1-5PM, saturdays, 90.9 FM WDCB.

agree on the Coach K...I think that's his best one

I kinda like the Sam Rosen one but like a SNL bit, he goes on too long with it. should keep it short and sweet

I don't think there is one that I don't like. Part of why I like this show so much, I guess...

Off topic, but the drop in where Harry bungles Dan's last name is classic. Dan's Harry is pretty good, but the Scully is spot on...

He did the Vin Scully voice yesterday. I laughed.

I like the Ron Gleason voice, though I'm not really familiar enough with the man himself to fully appreciate it (I know he does halftime on Bears radio but I think he's before my time as a Score guy). It's still pretty funny.
